The Farmers Security State Bank began in 1925
with the consolidation of the Goodhue County
State Bank and the Security State Bank. It was
located at the corner of Third Street and Main
Street in Zumbrota. In 1961, the bank relocated
to new facilities at 70 West Third Street. In
1969, Harvey Johnson purchased controlling
interest in the bank. John Perra acquired the
bank from the Johnson Estate in 1971. In 1992,
Farmers Security State Bank changed its name to
Bank of Zumbrota and opened a new detached
facility at 1440 South Main Street. Bank history
is not limited to ownership and location; it
includes a history of dedicated employees past
and present. |
